One of the (many) joys of Knitting and Crochet Blog Week was discovering new crafters. I came across a Japanese knitter and crocheter called roko from a mention in a blog post. I checked out roko’s projects on Ravelry and loved her work.
Her felted garter stripe square bag caught my eye in particular. I’m using the photo below with roko’s kind permission.
I’d like to make one for myself but I’ve never felted anything before and I’m a bit scared. Can any seasoned felters help with these questions please?
1. Can you felt using a front loading washing machine?
2. If so, what do I do?
3. Will this process kill my washing machine?
4. What’s the best yarn to use? I’m guessing pure wool would be best, so I was thinking along the lines of Cascade 220.
Thank you!
